How to Register on Taxisnet in Cyprus (2025 Step-by-Step Guide)
Step-by-step guide to opening a Taxisnet account with the Cyprus Tax Department — TIC number, activation code, and what to do if registration fails.
Taxisnet is the Cyprus Tax Department's online portal for submitting personal and corporate tax returns. Before you can file a TD1 income tax return online, you need an active Taxisnet account tied to your Tax Identification Code (TIC). Here's the full registration process for 2025.
What you need before you start
- Cyprus TIC number (issued by the Tax Department when you first register as a taxpayer)
- A valid Cyprus ID number or Alien Registration Card (ARC) number
- An active email address and a Cyprus mobile number
- Your most recent payslip or tax assessment (sometimes asked during identity verification)
Don't have a TIC yet?
You first need to apply for a TIC at your local District Tax Office using form TD2001 (individuals). Employees usually receive their TIC automatically when their employer registers them. If you're self-employed or a new resident, you'll need to apply in person.
Step 1 — Submit the online Taxisnet application
Go to taxisnet.mof.gov.cy and select "Register". Choose the "Direct Taxation (Inland Revenue)" service, fill in your TIC, ID/ARC number, full name, email, and mobile. Submit the form — you'll receive a confirmation email within minutes.
Step 2 — Receive your activation code
The Tax Department mails a printed activation code to your registered residential address in Cyprus. This usually arrives in 5–10 working days. If you haven't received it after two weeks, call your District Tax Office and reference your TIC.
Step 3 — Activate your account
Return to taxisnet.mof.gov.cy, select "Activate Account", enter the activation code, and set your permanent password. Choose something secure — you'll use this every year to file.
Step 4 — Log in and verify your profile
On first login, verify that your profile shows the correct address, marital status, and dependents. Errors here cause filing problems later. If anything is wrong, request a correction at your District Tax Office before you submit your return.
Common Taxisnet registration problems
"TIC not found"
Your TIC isn't yet active in the Direct Taxation system. This usually happens for new arrivals — visit your District Tax Office with your ARC/ID and ask them to activate the TIC for direct taxation.
Activation code never arrived
The most common cause is an address mismatch. If you've moved, file form TD2003 to update your address, then re-request the activation code.
Forgot your password
Use the "Forgot Password" link. You'll need access to the email and mobile registered on your Taxisnet profile. If both are out of date, you'll need to re-register in person.
What happens after activation
Once activated, you can file your annual TD1 return online, view past assessments, pay taxes by JCC, and authorise an accountant or filing service to submit on your behalf.
Prefer to skip the paperwork?
We file your Cyprus TD1 return through Taxisnet for €30 — a licensed advisor reviews your case and we handle the submission. If you need help getting your TIC or activating Taxisnet first, we can guide you through that too.
